The context

CHN.ELEC is a general electrical contractor based in Haute-Savoie: new installations, repairs, compliance upgrades. Work came almost entirely through word of mouth, which works fine while the order book is full and much less well when it needs filling.

The problem

An experienced electrician, completely invisible online. Local prospects searched for "electrician Haute-Savoie" on Google and only found competitors. No website, no linked Google My Business profile, no way to capture incoming quote requests.

Word of mouth has a geographical limit and a pace limit. Someone whose fuse box trips on a Sunday evening does not ask around, they type a search on their phone. With no website and no active Google profile, the business simply did not exist at that exact moment, the one where the decision is made.

The solution

Custom showcase website built from scratch, fully responsive, with a clear homepage presenting services (installation, repair, compliance), an about section, a project gallery and a contact form. Local SEO integration (geo tags, Schema.org LocalBusiness, NAP consistency). Hosting and domain setup included.

One section per service, not a catch-all page

Installation, repairs and compliance upgrades are not searched the same way, nor by the same people. Each service therefore has its own section, using the words clients actually type. A single page that mixes everything gives Google no reason to surface it on a specific search.

Consistent business details

The business name, address and phone number appear identically on the site, in the Schema.org LocalBusiness markup and on the Google Business profile. This consistency is among the signals Google uses directly for local search, and it is also the one most tradespeople's sites leave aside.

Mobile first, for real

Most repair searches start on a phone, often on an average connection. The site was built from the mobile layout outwards to the large screen, not the other way round. The phone number is tappable and visible without scrolling.

A form that lands in the right place

Enquiries go straight to the business mailbox, with no admin panel to check. A tradesperson who spends the day on site does not log into a dashboard in the evening, they read their email on their phone between two appointments.

The result

A fast website (PageSpeed score > 90), indexed on Google, allowing the artisan to show up on local searches and receive quote requests directly by email. A professional image that matches the real quality of service.

  • Site indexed on Google and visible on local searches in the area
  • PageSpeed score above 90, on mobile as well as desktop
  • Quote requests received directly by email, with no middleman
  • Google Business profile linked to the site and consistent with it

Frequently asked questions

How long did this project take?

Seven working days between the quote being approved and the site going live. The timeline mostly depended on gathering the job photos, supplied over the course of the week.

Can a tradesperson update the site themselves afterwards?

Yes. Text, opening hours and photos are changed from a simple interface, and a hands-on training session is included at delivery. For heavier changes, we stay reachable.

Why not use WordPress for a tradesperson's site?

A tradesperson's site fits in a handful of pages. WordPress adds a database, a plugin system and security updates to keep up with, for features that serve no purpose here. A hand-coded site loads faster and needs no software maintenance.
